Your responsibilities
About the Position

As the Start-up Events Manager at EIT Health, you will be instrumental in both shaping and executing our Europe-wide events strategy, crucial for scouting innovative start-ups and promoting our portfolio companies. This role not only involves organising standalone events but also managing events as integral components of larger projects. Your strategic planning and execution will foster a dynamic environment for investors, start-ups, and corporate partners, facilitating valuable connections and showcasing cutting-edge ideas. The postholder reports to the Senior Events Lead in the Corporate Affairs department and will collaborate closely with the Head of Deal Flow Management in the Accelerator. 

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a strategic events plan that aligns with the accelerator's objectives, including scouting start-ups and promoting portfolio companies, whilst ensuring alignment with the broader Corporate Affairs/Corporate events strategy
  • Organise and manage events as part of larger projects, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with project goals.
  • Plan and execute a variety of events, such as networking events, hackathons, demo days, pitch competitions, and high-level conferences, targeting diverse audiences including start-ups, investors, and corporates.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other team members to coordinate event-related aspects of broader projects.
  • Handle event logistics, including venue selection, vendor management, budgeting and effective financial management and on-site coordination, with an eye for detail and efficiency.
  • Work closely with marketing and communication teams (within corporate affairs) as well as Innovators Community to effectively promote events and engage the start-up community.
  • Evaluate the success of events through feedback and data analysis, using insights to refine future strategies and improve outcomes.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including sponsors, speakers, community partners, and project team members.
Your skills & knowledge
About You
Experienced events professional with a deep understanding of the start-up ecosystem and project management. You have a passion for designing and organising events that stand-out through their relevance and impact for participants, delivering real value to them. Experienced in managing complex logistics, engaging with various stakeholders, and ability to adapt to evolving project scopes on an international level makes you an ideal candidate for this dynamic role.

Essential Criteria
  • Bachelor's degree in Event Management or Marketing or Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in event planning and management, with a proven track record in project-based event execution.
  • Strong project management skills and experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage a variety of stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in event management software and project management tools.
  • Flexibility to travel as dictated by events and project timelines.
  • Full professional proficiency in English. Knowledge of other languages will be considered an asset.

Desired Criteria
  • Knowledge of start-up ecosystem, investment, European and/or public organisations and/or corporate communities.
  • Familiarity with current trends in event management and the start-up ecosystem.
  • Capability in managing both in-person and virtual events.
  • Knowledge of the Life Science ecosystem is a real plus.
